Southeast Region Office Manager/Assistant Project Manager: Chattanooga, TN Office
The Land Trust for Tennessee is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization whose purpose is to preserve the unique character of Tennessee’s natural, scenic and historic landscapes and sites for future generations. The protection of Tennessee’s vibrant landscapes is done through a multitude of conservation tools used by The Land Trust’s expert Land Staff. In order to support this critical work, The Land Trust for Tennessee must have the financial means to continue to operate in order to serve the number of interested landowners wishing to protect their land from future harm. A majority of The Land Trust’s funding comes from the gifts of private individuals and foundations and is solicited by The Land Trust’s Development and Fundraising Staff and Board of Directors. The Land Trust operates Tennessee offices in Nashville, Chattanooga, Sewanee and the Duck River Highlands.
The Land Trust for Tennessee seeks an Office Manager/Assistant Project Manager to work out of the Chattanooga office under the direction of the Southeast Project Manager and periodically out of the Sewanee office with the South Cumberland Project Manager. The candidate should possess an articulate, professional presence, with solid decision-making, planning and organizational skills. The Office Manager/Assistant Project Manager will:
· Assist the Project Manager in the development of marketing plans
designed to secure the interest and financial support from
businesses, corporate sponsors and individual donors.
· Assist the Project Manager in promoting and building support for
the programs of the Land Trust for Tennessee.
· Support the Project Manager with education and outreach projects
planning and implementation.
· Provide additional support to other Land Trust for Tennessee
programs as requested.
· Assist Project Manager in local and regional strategic planning and
land conservation initiatives, including land acquisition.
· Ability to maintain, strengthen and increase partnerships with
outside agencies, stakeholder groups, donors and various others.
· Experience with computer data entry, spreadsheet and database
management and report preparation.
· Coordinate special events and meetings including programs,
vendor contacts, and logistics.
· In coordination with the Development Director of The Land Trust for
Tennessee implement fundraising plans and strategies designed to
meet annual divisional goals.
· Provide administrative support such as maintenance of
correspondence, files and records.
Qualifications: Position requires effective time management, articulate spoken and written communication skills along with analytical and interpersonal skills. Proficient knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office software, internet based applications, computer equipment. GIS preferred but not required. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends. Must be team player with good communication skills, able to multi-task, prioritize and maintain attention to detail. This position requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to speak in front of the public. Must be able to interact effectively with all levels of staff, volunteers, donors and others. Ability to work as a team member with a positive, helpful attitude in developing creative response and solutions to meet needs and issues.
