Working together to strengthen our community

Board Development

The Center for Nonprofits often works with boards to build their capacity to lead community organizations effectively and efficiently.  Those who serve on boards often bring valuable skills and experience to the table, but may never have had training on the roles and responsibilities board members must take on to be successful.  Board development training can be a very useful tool in engaging your board and helping them to understand their vital role in your organization’s success.  Some of the topics we have covered with boards include:

  • Basics of Board Service
  • Advanced Board Service
  • Board Member Roles and Responsibilities
  • Board Legal Duties
  • Boards and Financial Oversight
  • Boards and Fundraising
  • Board Recruitment, Orientation and Engagement
  • Board Governance Responsibilities
