The Tennessee Valley Institute for Nonprofit Excellence, formerly known as the Tennessee Valley Fundraising Institute, is scheduled for August 12, 2010 from 8:30am-4:30pm at the UTC University Center. The conference is presented by the CNP in partnership with the SE TN Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Chattanooga Area Planned Giving Council.

This year's keynote speaker is Kay Sprinkel Grace, internationally known speaker and author on the topics of fundraising, philanthropy, board development, and strategic planning. Kay has authored and co-authored several booksincluding The Ultimate Board Member's Book: A One Hour Guide for Nonprofit Board Members and Over Goal! What You Must Know to Excel at Fund Raising Today.

The Luncheon Speaker for this year's conference is Lewis Lavine, President of the Center for Nonprofit Management in Nashville. Lewis played a central role in leading the nonprofit community's response to the recent Nashville floods. He will be sharing what he learned from the floods and his expertise and knowledge on the topics of disaster planning and emergency preparedness.

This year's conference includes workshops on Board Development, Advanced Social Media, Social Entrepreneurship, Direct Mail, and Fundraising, along with many more relevant topics to nonprofits.
